Astral Elegy: The Ebony Clock

This is the prequel novel for my upcoming manga/comic, Astral Elegy: God's Effigy. A work in progress to be updated regularly as each new chapter gets written.

This is a dark fantasy story about the life of Amasis Virem, a boy yearning for peace and stability in a world that doesn't welcome his kind. He watches over a bookstore nobody buys from, living in the back of it with his mother, Nubia Virem, who sells herself for petty change. He could easily change this for the better, for he's a talented mage, but casting a simple spell can attract the eyes of the Church of Ereus which burns his kind at the stake without much of a fair trial.  To make things worse, a swift witch hunter with a sharp and quick mind, Father Abraxas, arrives at the city in the company of the strange Abelev twins, Vladimir and Veronica. Yet, upon his sixteenth birthday, Amasis may just find a glimmer in an ever sinking abyss in the form of the mysterious dancer Isetaari Zakaria.
